Alondrea Michelle Hubbard

My research agenda centers on the emotional and relational dynamics that shape workplace experiences—especially how employees navigate ambivalence and complex interpersonal ties in response to organizational practices and societal changes.

I focus on three core areas: First, I study employee relationships, especially how multiplex connections—those that span work and nonwork—are crafted. Second, I investigate emotions in the workplace, paying special attention to ambivalent emotions like nostalgia, and how they influence inclusive behavior and identity expression. Third, I examine HR practices such as diversity practices, analyzing their impact on identity, inclusion, and retention through both experimental and survey-based methods.

My work appears in Group & Organization Management and is forthcoming in edited volumes on social exchange. I’ve presented across major conferences, including the Academy of Management, and I serve in leadership roles for the Human Resources division. I’m committed to interdisciplinary, multi-method work that bridges theory and practice, especially in helping organizations support employees through emotionally complex, socially charged environments.
