Alondrea Michelle Hubbard
| My research agenda centers on the emotional and relational dynamics that shape workplace experiences—especially how employees navigate ambivalence and complex interpersonal ties in response to organizational practices and societal changes. I focus on three core areas: First, I study employee relationships, especially how multiplex connections—those that span work and nonwork—are crafted. Second, I investigate emotions in the workplace, paying special attention to ambivalent emotions like nostalgia, and how they influence inclusive behavior and identity expression. Third, I examine HR practices such as diversity practices, analyzing their impact on identity, inclusion, and retention through both experimental and survey-based methods. My work appears in Group & Organization Management and is forthcoming in edited volumes on social exchange. I’ve presented across major conferences, including the Academy of Management, and I serve in leadership roles for the Human Resources division. I’m committed to interdisciplinary, multi-method work that bridges theory and practice, especially in helping organizations support employees through emotionally complex, socially charged environments. |
